Dear Pupils and Parents/Carers,

I wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate all our pupils and their families on the outstanding GCSE results achieved across Pontefract Academies Trust in 2020. The stunning performance has been achieved at a period of history that has been unsettling and confusing for all. It is vitally important that everyone celebrates. The achievements are a wonderful example of the partnership between teachers, pupils and parents/carers in both Carleton High School and The King’s School.

I am sure that you will be delighted to learn that, despite the confusion and all the well documented national issues with the 2020 examination series, our results have been exceptional.

The next steps for all pupils should be an exciting one, whatever your chosen destination. On behalf of all teachers and staff at Pontefract Academies Trust, I wish you all the very best.

Best wishes,

Julian Appleyard OBE

Chief Executive Officer
