Carleton High School Welcomes New Deputy Headteacher

Carleton High School, part of Pontefract Academies Trust, is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Deputy Headteacher, Kelly Hodges.

Kelly has a wealth of knowledge, with over 15 years of experience in the education sector, and was attracted to Carleton High School due to it being named the most improved school in the North of England in 2021 by the Fairer Secondary Schools Index, published by the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, and its vision to continually strive for the best. Kelly aims to support the school on its journey to outstanding, ensuring that all students at Carleton achieve the best they can.

Julian Appleyard OBE, CEO of Pontefract Academies Trust said: “As a Trust, we’re incredibly proud to support and develop our fantastic people.  Kelly has been in post since the start of January and has a clear picture of the school and the community it serves.  We wish her well in her new role and look forward to celebrating and supporting her with her new endeavors and achievements.”

Kelly Hodges, Deputy Headteacher at Carleton High School said: “I am looking forward to continuing to contribute to the excellent standards that currently exist at Carleton High School and making improvements to attendance overall in the school. I will also contribute to raising the profile and outcomes of the SEND and LAC students. It’s an honor to work for such a fast-paced Trust and I’m really looking forward to making a difference.”
