2026 GCSE Success across Pontefract Academies Trust

Students at Carleton High School and The King’s School are celebrating another strong set of GCSE results.

Across our Trust, 71% of students achieved a Grade 4 or higher in both English and maths. More than half earned a strong pass.

Behind the results are the inspiring success stories of our students, each with their own individual story and unique journey.

Here are just a handful of standout successes:

Carleton High School

  • Isla achieved three Grade 9s alongside four Grade 8s and a Grade 7. She now goes on to Pontefract New College to pursue A levels in French, Geography and Physics.
  • Reuben achieved an impressive set of results, including three Grade 9s, one Grade 8, three Grade 7s and a D2 in Engineering. He will now progress to New College to study A Levels in Maths, Physics and French.

The King’s School

  • Jayden achieved a fantastic set of results, including five Grade 9s and four Grade 8s. As a valued member of our student body, he has made a real contribution to school life and is incredibly well liked and respected by both his peers and staff.

It has been wonderful to see Chriselda flourish at The King’s School, and with ambitions to pursue a career in medicine, her talent, determination and quiet confidence will undoubtedly take her far.
