We are proud to share the news that James Parkinson, Executive Headteacher at De Lacy Primary School, has been awarded the Gold Award for Headteacher of the Year in a Primary School at the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards.
Announced in the Sunday Times this weekend, this national recognition not only recognises James’ exceptional leadership, but also showcases the remarkable spirit, resilience, and togetherness of our entire school and Trust community.
From the moment James joined De Lacy Primary School, he won over the community not with promises, but with hope, action, and belief. He showed families, staff and pupils that success is possible when we all work together. His leadership has been rooted in compassion, respect and an unwavering commitment to building a school where every child thrives and recognises their full potential.
What makes this award so special is that it isn’t just an award for James to be proud of, it’s for all of us. It recognises staff who go above and beyond every day, the pupils whose ambition inspires us, the families who place their trust in the school, and the wider Trust community who work collectively to improve life outcomes for our children.
We couldn’t be prouder, and we couldn’t be more thankful for the continued support of everyone who has been a part of this journey.
Congratulations, James! You deserve this win!
